Mico, Jamalco seek second win in Clarendon League
MINERAL HIEGHTS, Clarendon — Newcomers Mico University College will today go in search of their second win from as many matches when they play Holmwood B in the Clarendon Netball Association/Jamalco Open League, starting at 2:40 pm at Mineral Heights.
Mico, with a number of Clarendon players in their line-up, recorded the widest margin of victory on opening day — beating Gravel Hill 36-7 to lead Zone Three — and will be looking to maintain their winning start.
Sunday’s game will be the first for Holmwood B, whose first-round fixture against Longville Park was postponed, but having won their fifth consecutive all-island schoolgirl title last season, the Christiana-based school should good enough to give Mico their first real test of the competition.
Also in Zone Three, Denbigh A, who demolished Toll Gate 31-7 last Sunday, will go up against Longville Park, while cellar teams Toll Gate and Gravel Hill will do battle.
Over in Zone One, leaders and defending champions Jamalco will also go for their second straight win when they take on Humble Lion, while Optimist play Denbigh B, as Glenmuir square-off with Mack Builders.
In Zone Two, Windalco meet Foga Road, Ricam take on Slipe PYC and Hayes All-Star challenge Holmwood A.
