Tivoli ‘A’, Jamalco square off in Berger Super Netball League
TIVOLI ‘A’ and defending champions Jamalco will face each other as the preliminary round of the 2010 Berger Paints/Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Super League competition continues today at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 7:15 pm.
The Sylvester Campbell-coached West Kingston-based aggregation are jointly at the top of the points standing with champions Jamalco with 24 points from eight wins from as many starts.
However, Tivoli have a better goal average than the Winston Nevers-coached Clarendon-based girls, 577 goals with 202 against, while their opponents have 563 goals to 246 against. Waulgrovians are in third position with 18 points from eight games, with a game in hand against Windalco to be played next week Wednesday.
Last Saturday, Tivoli ‘A’ turned back Waulgrovians ‘A’ in a very important match, 55-46, to also avenge their defeat in the Open League final. This has left Waulgrovians with two defeats against the joint leaders.
In other Super League games played on Saturday, defending champions Jamalco defeated Mico Netball Club 49-36; Windalco registered their sixth win from eight games by crushing SKIBO ‘A’ 76-20; GC Foster Strikers ‘A’ beat Police ‘A’ 29-13.
