Teams position for points at Primary Schools Championships
ALTHOUGH there were no finals scheduled on yesterday’s opening day, the four-day INSPORTS/SWIZZZLE Primary Athletic meet seems to be a wide open affair at the National Stadium.
The meet continues this morning at 9:00 with the boys long jump and girls Open high jump finals.
With the first track events, the 4×100 metres relay for all four classes for boys and girls completed yesterday, defending champions Naggo Head have the advantage, having qualified for majority of these finals. The have qualified for nine relay finals.
The 4x100m relays proved how strong the schools are and the times done can also indicate who will be the winners at the end of the final day on Saturday. The eight fastest times qualify for the finals.
There were a number of unknown schools who surprised and are through to the finals of the relays. It is still too early to call as there are the 100m and 200m to be run over the next two days.
The 100 metres heats are scheduled for this morning.
