Sarah Jessica Parker has admitted there were clashes on the Sex and the City set, saying: “Sometimes feelings get hurt.”

There have been reports the stars don’t get along. But the 45-year-old actress denies that there is a bitter rivalry among the ensemble cast, which includes Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis. The mother-of-three tells US Marie Claire: “When you’re on set, you’re working 90-hour weeks, you’re never home, you’re exhausted. There are times when all of us have been sensitive and sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don’t have any regrets about how I’ve treated people.” Nixon, 44, agrees, saying: “It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. But the idea that we’re somehow adversarial is ludicrous.” In fact Nixon claims the four women even socialise when they’re not working together.

The redhead, who plays Miranda, says: “We go to the theatre together or just go to one of our houses for dinner.” Davis, who plays Charlotte, says: “When we first started, we would all drive out to the Hamptons together at 4am on a Friday night after shooting ended and see the sunrise as we arrived.” Cattrall, who plays Samantha, also denies any rift. The 53-year-old says: “Nineteen-hour workdays are stressful, whether you’re driving a truck, working in a coal mine or on a set and trying to be your brightest at 4 o’clock in the morning. But there’s a camaraderie that happened through all of that. The chemistry among the four of us is very strong.” In fact, Cattrall suggests the rumours of discord among the stars is tabloid fantasy. “Because the press has to put women in these boxes rather than show them as the movie portrays them: working together and being powerful,” she says.

While fans have applauded her return after a highly publicised battle against drug addiction, they have also been subjected to some erratic performances. The latest was on Tuesday night in Rome, which saw the 46-year-old in bloated and bedraggled form. Miss Houston squeezed into tight-fitting leather trousers and a black sequined jacket for the concert. But the bright stage lighting merely illuminated the sweat dripping down from the star’s face. It was a far cry from the serene, svelte picture of the star — dressed in a slinky glittering gown that had been used in promotional posters for the tour, Nothing But Love.

Leno takes shot at Conan O’Brien in TV monologue

The late-night television wars are alive and well.

Jay Leno took a swipe at Conan O’Brien in his monologue Tuesday, two days after O’Brien’s interview with 60 Minutes aired on CBS. O’Brien told the news magazine that if he were in Leno’s shoes he would not have taken back the Tonight show perch the way Leno did from him.

Leno took a shot at O’Brien when he joked about a supposed Facebook page kept by Faisal Shahzad (FY’-sul shah-ZAHD’), the man accused of planting a car bomb in Times Square. The camera panned over the fake page to groups that Shahzad was a member of, and one of them was Team Coco. That’s the name taken by a group of O’Brien dedicated fans angry at his treatment by NBC.
