Barrett Town return to top of Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Barrett Town returned to the top of Zone A of the Claro St James football Association’s Senior League on Thursday after clipping Abes Academy in their opening third-round cross zone game played at the UDC field.
Garfield Austin’s first half goal was enough for Barrett Town’s sixth win as they moved on to 22 points, three more than Revelation FC who were beaten by Zone B strugglers Melbourne FC at Albion.
Trevan Allen scored in the second half for Melbourne who continued to climb out of relegation danger with their second straight win and fourth overall.
In the third game at the Wyndham field in Rose Hall, North Gully Ambassadors came from a goal down to lead Mountain Villa before having to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw.
Oraine Braham gave Mountain Villa the lead after 15 minutes, but an own goal 10 minutes later brought Gully Ambassadors level before Leon McKnight gave them the lead in the 56th minute.
Romaine Berch, however, scored in the 78th minute for Mountain Villa for a share of the points.
