Boys Club move closer to semi-final
ALBION, St James — Montego Bay Boys Club are a point away from becoming the first team to secure a semi-final place in the Claro St James FA’s Division One competition after a 5-0 thrashing of Copperwood FC in a third round game at the Albion field last Tuesday.
This was Boys Club’s eighth win in nine games as they improved to 25 points and will clinch a place in the semi-final with a draw in their next outing, against Juniors FC tomorrow, or if Reggae Youths fail to beat Copperwood in their game.
Boys Club, who lead the league with 29 goals, led 3-0 at half-time with goals from Fabian Gifford in the 13th minute, Lovell Jonas in the 27th and Kalusha Koates in the 38th.
Leroy Christie added a goal in the 50th while Anthony Drummond scored in the 72nd.
In another gameon Tuesday, Westgreen FC and Reggae Youths drew 1-1 at the UDC field.
Duran Skyers scored in the 23rd minute for Reggae Youths while Mitchroy Hemmings scored for Westgreen in the 59th.
