Excitement building for Mountain Dew Stunt Festival
With less than two weeks to go there is a steady buzz surrounding the annual family friendly show, Mountain Dew Stunt Festival, set to take place on Labour Day, Monday, May 24 at the Police Officer’s Club in St Andrew.
According to promoter Linval Gibbons he has been receiving positive response on the upcoming event, which is usually staged at the Jamalco Sports Club in Clarendon.
“I’ve have been getting a lot of positive comments regarding the new venue and also the addition of the female stunt rider on the team,” he said.
Cory Coffey the female BMX rider is expected to make a grand entrance and ought to peak the excitement level.
Leader of the Pro Impact Stunt Team, Jeff Ferris and his other team members Matt Sager and Nick Happel are ‘regulars’ and need no introduction on the ramp to the Jamaican crowd who they have been thrilling since the introduction of the event five years ago.
Newcomer this year also will be Dave McDaniel on BMX and according to Gibbons both McDaniel and Coffey are excited about making their Jamaican debut.
Adults and children alike will have their chance to enjoy themselves as there will be a lot of fun rides at the venue. Among the attractions will be mechanical bull, Ferris Wheel, trains, trampo-leaper, helicopter, rock climber, merry go round, bounce-a-bouts galore and lots more.
Later on in the evening the fun will continue with stage performances from Beenie Man, I-Octane, Voicemail, Apachie Chief and Sarge, Blacker, Rum Head, Ras Goudie, Hitman Wally and others.
Gates open at 10:00 am and the promoter is emphasising that the day’s activities will come to an end by 9:00 pm.
