Boot Camp recording artiste, Stevie Face, recently dropped a new single from his sophomore album, Tell It Like It Is.

A cover of the 1989 Billboard hit, In The Living Years, originally done by the American group Mike and The Mechanics, the single which was released a few weeks ago is already getting heavy rotation both locally and abroad. A supporting music video for In The Living Years has also been released.

Since its release late last year Tell It Like It Is has been voted the best reggae album in the UK and continues to be a top seller there, as well as in several territories world-wide. Stevie Face has also scored two number one singles from the album — the title track, Tell It Like It Is and I Wanna Wake Up With You. Both songs have topped the reggae charts in Jamaica, England, Canada, America and Europe.

“I have been quietly putting in a lot of hard work in the studio and touring to build up my fan base, and it is such a thrill to see that it is paying off,” Stevie said. “I have to acknowledge the effort and the work of my manager/producer Paul (Henton) whose experience in the music business has been a huge factor in my success,” he added.

Stevie Face is one of the most popular reggae artistes in the UK today and, according to his manager, it is a market that, having broken into it, is good to reggae acts.

“The response he got in February 2009 when he made his debut performance at the Brixton O2 venue in London was overwhelming. Since then fans have been demanding Stevie’s return to shores of England and, several promoter have also been trying to book him for dates in the UK,” Paul ‘Computer Paul’ Henton explained.

However, rather than return to the UK in 09, Henton opted instead to concentrate on the promotion of the album from Jamaica.

Feeling that the time is now right for him to return to England, they have decided to accept an invitation for Stevie Face to perform on the Uprising Music Festival in England. This will see Stevie rubbing shoulders with the likes of reggae stalwarts such as Coco Tea, Barrington Levy and Freddie McGregor on Saturday the June 19, at the Brixton O2. The concert has been billed in the UK as the Reggae event of 2010 and will be the launch of the annual Uprising Music Festival, which promises to showcase the best reggae artistes from all over the world.

Henton stated that since the promotion of the show began a great number of Stevie’s fans in the UK have been sending him messages on Myspace and Facebook expressing their joy regarding his inclusion on the line-up.

“Many of them say they have already bought tickets for the event as they do not want to miss out on his performance. Stevie has started rehearsing for the show and his will be a tight set. He intends to give fans a show that they will never forget,” Henton declared.
