Comfort hunt second win in Div One quarters
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Group A leaders Comfort will be going for their second straight win in the quarter-final round of the FX Trader/Clarendon Football Association Division One when they play away to Harlem at Glenmuir today at 3:30 pm.
Comfort opened their account at the weekend with a 2-0 blanking of previously unbeaten New Longsville at Comfort and will be looking to inch closer to a semi-finals berth with a win against Harlem.
Harlem, who advanced to the last eight as the second-placed finishers from Zone Three, played to a 1-1 draw with Free Town on Sunday and will be hard-pressed to collect against Comfort if they are to keep their semi-finals hope on track.
In the other game today, New Longsville host Free Town at Turners Oval, Chapelton, in a game both must win to have any chance of making the semis.
Tomorrow, joint Group B leaders Spartan FC and Treadlight FC should be good enough to make it two wins from as many starts when they play Cockpit FC and Chatteau Progressive, respectively.
At Clarendon College on Saturday, Spartan registered a comfortable 3-1 win over Chatteau, while Treadlight blanked Cockpit 2-0 at Treadlight.
Spartan will now travel to Cockpit, while Treadlight will be at home to Chatteau in games that are also begin at 3:30.
