New judge on board for The Anchor
The eight finalists in The Anchor now have their feet in the fire as they go on location to do their first stand-up challenges. They could be seen around Kingston with microphone in hand in front of television cameras.
Things get more crucial with the introduction of a new judge in the form of Sherando Ferril-Cupid who is the new female on the panel. She brings years of experience as a radio and television broadcaster and as an acclaimed stage actress. While the judges will continue to do critiques, it will be up to the public to decide who remains in the competition.
The two male finalists must parry with six females who make up the final eight. All have received hands-on training from Kerlyn Brown of the CVM-TV news team. They are now forced to present scripts that they must write themselves.
Next week they will visit the Gun Court and the North Street Cathedral in Kingston, among other locations. Now, viewers will start to see who really has the “right stuff” to be an Anchor. The show airs at 9:00 pm on Mondays with a repeat on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm.
