Stunt leader, Jeff Ferris, ready to thrill at Mountain Dew Stunt Festival
Tomorrow, Monday, May 24 when the Pro Impact Stunt team takes centrestage at the Police Officer’s Club it will be all about fun, fun and more fun.
Team leader Jeff Ferris told Sunday Observer, “Our message is always about fun. Showing kids …people how much fun we have had our whole lives doing these sports. So we want to be positive role models for them and encourage them to give it a try. It keeps them away from gangs, drugs and crime and gives them something positive to focus on,” Ferris explained.
“Plus it’s great exercise!” he added
Ferris says the team is all geared up and ready to put on a great show for stunt lovers. “I have been hitting a bunch of skate parks, getting all my tricks dialled and also hiking to get my endurance up. A few days ago I did a three-hour hike to the famous Hollywood sign. The others do the same, and also have been doing a lot of other shows recently, so we all should be in good shape, ready to thrill the people of Kingston,” he shared.
Ferris, who last year was pronounced a “Jamerican” by his local fans, said he is honoured to have that title bestowed on him as he considers Jamaica his “home away from home”.
A vegetarian he says it’s always tough coming to Jamaica with its tempting culinary delights, but consoles himself with the festival and rice and peas he gets to enjoy. As for his other team members he says that they can’t wait to devour the best jerk chicken in the world!
Among the other attractions to enjoy on Monday are fun rides such as mechanical bull, Ferris Wheel, trains, trampo-leaper, helicopter, rock climber, merry go round, bounce-a-bouts galore and lots more.
Later on in the evening the fun will continue with stage performances from Beenie Man, I-Octane, Voicemail, Apachie Chief and Sarge, Blacker, Rum Head, Ras Goudie, Hitman Wally and others.
The Mountain Dew Stunt Festival is sponsored by Main Event Entertainment Group, Television Jamaica, Chat!, The Jamaica Pegasus, Grace Vienna Sausage, Beaumont’s Car Rentals & Tours Limited, Dr Lushus and Hype TV.
Gates open at 10:00 am and the promoter is emphasising that the day’s activities will come to an end by 9:00 pm.
