Salt Spring rally for point against Fogo
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Salt Spring United came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 against Fogo United in a St James Football Association’s Claro Senior League third round game at the UDC field on Wednesday as rains continued to wreak havoc with the football schedule here.
Only one of three games scheduled for Wednesday was completed and several others earlier in the week and also last week were also washed out by the almost daily heavy rainfall.
On Wednesday, Fogo struck twice in the space of five minutes- Ian Brown in the 28th minute and Norman Street in the 33rd staked the Flankers based club to a 2-0 lead at half time.
Javian Bailey pulled one back for Salt Spring in the 60th minute while veteran midfielder Patrick Clarke scored the equaliser 10 minutes from time in the 80th minute.
The point did little for either team’s semi-final hopes as Salt Spring now has 20 points in Zone A, two behind joint leaders Revelation and Barrett Two who have a game in hand while Fogo United is on 22 points, still five points adrift of Zone B leaders and semi-finalists Tomorrow’s People.
