VP releases Soca Gold 2010
VP Records recently released another in its hugely popular Soca Gold series — Soca Gold 2010.
Leading the regiment is the prince of soca Chutney Rikki Jai’s popular Barman track. Then there is the infectious Party Hard from Donae’o that is guaranteed to make listeneres do just that.
Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds’ single Gimmie De Juk Juk, exemplifies the feelings and mood of soca music, while soca superstar, Machel Montana meets dancehall’s Busy Signal on the collaborated track Wooeeii Gal Wooeeii. Barbadian artiste Edwin Yearwood lends his Socaton style to the mix with his track Carnival On My Mind.
Soca Gold 2010 would not be complete without giving a soca injection to the most popular track in Reggae music — Gyptian’s single Hold You.
Soca music has been lifting spirits and providing the backdrop to parties across the globe. The album also includes Fadda Fox’s Staggerah, Peter Ram’s Tattoo Farm and Lyrikal’s All Over De Gyal. In conjunction with this CD is a bonus DVD with exclusive footage from Trinidad’s 2010 Carnival and music videos.
