Bridgmohan wins Take D Tour Stakes
MIAMI, Florida (CMC) — Jermaine Bridgmohan continued to strike it rich in big-money races, when he drove Dash Dot Dash to a 6 æ-length victory in US $55,000 Take D Tour Stakes on Saturday at the Calder Race Course.
The 22-year-old Bridgmohan raced Dash Dot Dash in second, behind Poovey after a half-mile in 48.45 seconds in the Take D Tour over 1,670 metres on dirt.
Dash Dot Dash was in her first race at Calder, and Bridgmohan, then moved to take over the lead on the far turn.
Bridgmohan, who hails from Spanish Town in Jamaica, took over the lead entering the turn, and gradually pulled away on Dash Dot Dash.
The four-year-old, dark bay filly ran the distance in an impressive one minute, 44.25 seconds on a track rated fast.
In the Take D’Tour, Dash Dot Dash was the 2-1 second choice in a six-horse field, and paid US $6.60 to win.
Trainer Martin Wolfson said he plans to keep Dash Dot Dash in dirt races, but is uncertain if that will be at Calder, or at other tracks.
