‘Ecstatic’ Céline Dion pregnant with IVF twins at 42
Thrilled: Céline Dion with husband René Angelil. The pair are expecting twins.

‘Ecstatic’ Céline Dion pregnant with IVF twins at 42

Singer Céline Dion is reportedly pregnant with twins after her sixth attempt at in-vitro fertilisation.

The 42-year-old Canadian star’s dream of expanding her family has come true, her spokesman has told US media. Dion, who is married to her manager René Angelil, 68, is already mother to nine-year-old René-Charles. And after undergoing her sixth in-vitro fertilisation attempt and turning to acupuncture to improve her chances of conceiving, her spokesman Kim Jakwerth confirmed the happy news to People.com.

Dion is said to be 14 weeks pregnant and will find out the babies’ genders next month. “We’re ecstatic,” her husband told the website. “Céline is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing.” It was reported Céline was pregnant last August, but her spokeperson confirmed in November 2009 that the pregnancy had failed. The My Heart Will Go On singer has never made a secret of her desire to extend her family, and was always planning to get pregnant following her run of shows in Las Vegas last year.

She said: “We’ll give it a try after my tour. Hopefully we will be parents again. If not, that’s fine. We have our miracle baby.” Céline became pregnant with René-Charles after having IVF treatment following six years of attempting to conceive. When asked last December about her plans to get pregnant for a second time, she confirmed she and her husband had “a frozen embryo” waiting. Last year, René said: “We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous. But we are full of confidence. Céline is more determined than ever.”

Peckish GaGa sends guard to pick up a curry

As she emerged from a London studio showing off her slim figure in a bra, trousers and little else, it was hard to believe Lady GaGa has ever eaten anything fattening.

But the 24-year-old singer was apparently so hungry after an interview with fashion film website SHOWstudio that she sent her security guard to a local Indian restaurant to pick up a curry for her.

While it remains to be seen whether GaGa went for a korma or a jalfrezi, one thing is clear – the singer is a big fan of supporting local eateries. Last year, following a performance on The X Factor, GaGa popped into a pub in a nearby eatery for a fish and chip supper. But today it was Indian – from the restaurant Khabe. The Poker Face singer was clearly peckish after her interview with SHOWstudio, in which she was quizzed by some of fashion’s most famous names, including Naomi Campbell.

Kelly Rowland reveals toned figure on the beach after shedding 10 lbs

With her defined muscles and toned figure, Kelly Rowland is looking in better shape than ever.

The former Destiny’s Child singer is spending the Memorial Day weekend at her home in Miami, where she has been sunning herself on the beach. Her pale blue cutout swimsuit highlighted her shapely waist, which showed the benefit of her regular workouts.

Kelly has shed up to 10 lbs in recent months — which she puts down to giving up sugar. “I’m telling you, I’m not eating sugar,” she said. “I didn’t even try to lose weight.” “I read this book, called You Are What You Eat . . . but for the most part, it is just sugar that is gone from my diet.” Kelly, 29, has also been working hard on her as yet untitled third solo album, and is preparing for the US release of single Shake Them Haters Off.
