St Catherine Little League football begins today
The St Catherine leg of the state-run Little League football competition will kick off today at GC Foster College starting at 10:00 am.
A brief opening ceremony precedes the kick-off, which will see the playing of one game.
The competition was officially launched on May 21, with Clarendon getting action underway on Thursday, May 27 at the Jamalco Sports Club.
The official start in St Catherine was postponed twice due to the flare-up of violence in Spanish Town and subsequent bad weather.
Meanwhile, four matches were played yesterday at Jamalco in Clarendon with Race Track Basic School registering the biggest margin of victory.
Garron Bailey scored six times, including an own goal, as Race Track hammered Wesleyan 10-2.
Kymani Williams, who had a four-timer last week, also scored six times in Paisley’s 6-1 blanking of B&W Basic.
Santana Reid scored a brace in guiding Treadlight to a 2-0 win over Bushy Park, while Evans Basic drew 2-2 with Rock Ministries.
The competition continues on Thursday at the same venue with five games.
