Charlie Sheen to accept deal for 30 days in jail

by pleading guilty to assault on wife

Hollywood star Charlie Sheen is set to be jailed for 30 days after pleading guilty to an assault on his wife Brooke Mueller.

The Two And A Half Men star has accepted a plea deal that will put him behind bars for a month, according to sources involved with his case. By agreeing to a lesser offence, rather than the more serious charges of third-degree assault and felony menacing, he received a reduced sentence of just 30 days.

Sheen, 44, is due in court on June 7 following his arrest on Christmas Day in Aspen, Colorado. He faced a series of serious charges after his wife Brooke Mueller claimed he had held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. The couple have since split and Mueller, who later tried to withdraw the charges, was treated at a rehab clinic for a crack cocaine addiction. Sheen, the highest paid actor on US TV, spent most of Christmas Day in jail after the arrest on domestic violence charges.

The assault took place after Sheen and his wife had been drinking at their rented home in the up-market ski resort. Despite Mueller’s plea to drop the assault charges, prosecutors pressed ahead with the case. The couple are no longer living together and the actor has been linked to a lingerie model after he was spotted sneaking out of her flat in Los Angeles in a disguise. A copy of their pre-nuptial agreement revealed that the longer Mueller stays married to Sheen the more money she will get from his estimated £40 million (US$59 million) fortune.

Miley Cyrus struggles to stay upright in seven-inch Louboutins

Teen queen Miley Cyrus needed a helping hand Monday night as she struggled to negotiate a flight of steps in killer seven-inch heels.

The 17-year-old singer and actress kept her balance in the peep-toe, Louboutin ankle boots by clinging on to a wall and then by grabbing the hand of an assistant who guided her down safely.

Miley, who performed at a music festival in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday night was at the Villamanga Hotel in the Spanish capital Madrid to launch her new album Can’t Be Tamed. Dressed in high-waisted black trousers and a striped, cutaway vest top revealing a black bra, Miley looked very different from the girl who shot to fame playing wholesome Hannah Montana in the hit Disney TV series. The teenager has come under fire recently for her revealing outfits.

Adrien Brody and January Jones keep budding romance under wraps

Actress January Jones is one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelorettes. But not for long, if reports of a romance with Oscar winner Adrien Brody are to be believed.

The two were both seen at a Memorial Day beach party in Malibu on Monday. But if there is any romance, they appear to be keen to keep it under wraps for now. January, who plays beautiful housewife Betty Draper in hit TV show Mad Men, has dated Ashton Kutcher, Josh Groban and Jeremy Piven.

Brody ended his relationship to actress Elsa Pataky last May. The pair were first seen out together at New York’s Rose bar. A source told US magazine Life & Style: “Brody and Jones were flirting with each other. They held hands in full view of everyone.” So their appearance at the same party in Malibu was probably less than coincidental.
