First loser on The Anchor
NOBODY likes to be a loser but Dale Harrison had no choice when the viewers voted that he should go home. The 36-year-old was not happy to leave the other six finalists behind but “the masses have spoken”, he said.
It was anybody’s guess as to which of the seven finalists would end up in the proverbial “doghouse”. Viewers had clear choices in the contestants’ style of presentation and their ability to articulate their own scripts in a professional manner.
This week, another contestant must say goodbye and the remaining five must step up to the plate if they hope to survive. The remaining five vary between the ages of 20 and 46. The ages of the others in between that range are 21, 27, 36 and 43.
Why do they want to change professions or even attempt this formidable challenge? Could it be the glamour of television or is it the first- prize bounty of $500,000?
Now that they have had to present from an outside-studio location and sit in a real anchor’s chair on a dedicated set, the finalists now realise that each week one person will take the long walk home.
The Anchor is aired on Mondays at 9:00 pm with a repeat broadcast on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm.
