Harmony notch another win in Trelawny ML
BOUNTY HALL, Trelawny — Harmony FC opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Trelawny FA National Rums of Jamaica Major League after scoring an exciting 3-2 win over Flames FC in a rescheduled second-round game at Bounty Hall on Wednesday.
Richardo Reid scored twice to take his tally for the season to 10 goals, leading Harmony to their 11th win of the season as they bolted to 37 points, five more than second-placed Holland, on 32, with Clarks Town two points back in third.
After drawing their first-round game 0-0 and playing the first 60 minutes of Wednesday’s game without scoring, the teams combined to produce an action-filled final 27 minutes which saw five goals being scored as the game swung back and forth.
Reid opened the scoring in the 63rd minute for Harmony, only to see Metcho Clarke equalise for Flames in the 73rd.
Kenardo Wilson restored Harmony’s lead in the 78th, while Reid increased the lead in the 84th with his second goal.
Duwayne Duncan gave Flames some hopes of at least a draw when he scored in the 89th to cut the deficit to one, but time ran out on the comeback.
Palmento United moved to ninth place on 18 points after Romando Anderson’s hat-trick led them to a 4-2 come-from-behind win over last placed Sherwood FC at Elliston Wakeland Centre.
Cion Dale gave Sherwood the lead in the 23rd minute before Dwayne Cole equalised in the 29th.
Anderson, who took his tally to 11 goals, tied with Harmony’s Wilson for the lead as he scored the next three goals in the game to give his team a 4-1 lead netting in the 36th, 44th and 49th minutes before Errol Hamilton got another for Sherwood in the 88th.
Meanwhile, Upsetters FC were awarded three points for their game against Spicy Hill FC, who have also had their home field suspended for the remainder of the season.
The points took Upsetters to 25 points, past Kinloss into fifth place.
