Female invasion at Heineken River Sundays
Heineken River Sundays returns for the third time this Sunday June 6. The first staging of River Sundays on Easter Sunday at Grossman River in Brea’s River, St Elizabeth was a massive hit which achieved its objective of providing quality, clean family entertainment.
Among the over 2000 patrons who turned out to thet event were several prominent Jamaican artistes who gave the event the thumbs up. May 2 saw the second staging of the event and featured dancers from all over Jamaica showing their newest styles and flavour. Music was provided by Penny Bling of Danger Zone and Ricky Trooper.
Tomorrow, Heineken River Sundays will again aim to change the entertainment landscape in St Elizabeth with the importation of three of Jamaica’s top entertainers. Ce’Cile, DJ Sunshine and Miss Kitty who will herald the female invasion of Heineken River Sundays.
CEO of the Danger Zone Music Group Delmar ‘Della Danger’ Drummond believes that Heineken River Sundays will be made that much better with the addition of the three women.
“I feel the three women represent for their respective fields at the moment … they are all at the top of their game. DJ Sunshine undoubtedly is one of if not the best female disc jocks around, and she has now widened her horizon by entering into the artiste world. Ms Kitty is by far the most popular host or female individual in local media today, while Ce’Cile has found a new leading role in the females that represent for reggae and dancehall”.
Ronnie ‘Frassman’ White of Nuwave Entertainment, one of the promoters of the event, is excited about partnering with Danger Zone for this new venture: “This is the third installment of the series, when we started we promised good food, good entertainment and fun for the kids in the day. We have achieved those aims and the people have supported us. This is a free event and profits from the food and drink go to community projects. Ce’Cile, DJ Sunshine and Miss Kitty believe in what we are doing and have come on-board to support this project. We are happy for that and I know that their contribution will bring great fun and excitement to this Sunday’s event.”
This Sunday will see Drummond’s Catering providing the food, while Penny Bling of Danger Zone, alongside Bredda Hype, will provide music.
