Jamalco Football League begins today
HAYES, Clarendon — The 2010 staging of the Jamalco Football League will get going today with a double-header to be preceded by an opening ceremony and a dress parade, starting at 1:00 pm at the Jamalco Sports Club.
In the opening game at 2:00 pm, New Bowens will take on South Manchester, while defending champions Sunset will play Harmons at 4:00.
Some 18 teams are down to participate in this year’s competition to be divided into three zones of six with teams playing each other once in the first round.
After the preliminary phase, the top two finishers from each zone and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-final round which will take on a two-group format. The two group winners and their runner-ups will contest the semi-finals.
