JAMALCO, Tivoli clash in Berger Paints finale
REIGNING champions JAMALCO will go in search of their seventh consecutive triumph when they take on rivals Tivoli ‘A’ in the 2010 Berger Paints/JNA best-of-three final this afternoon at the Leila Robinson courts, beginning at 5:30 pm.
JAMALO advanced after turning back spirited sister company WINDALCO 56-44 in their semi-final match-up, while Tivoli ‘A’ stopped Open League champions Waulgrovians ‘A’ 33-26 last Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, with JAMALCO going for their eighth triumph, Tivoli ‘A’ have not won the title for the past 12 years and are expected to go all-out this time around.
After two straight days of back-to-back matches, the quarter-finals on Wednesday and the semi-finals on Thursday, fitness in this first of three games should certainly play a key role in the performances of the players and outcome of the encounter.
