Over 120 hopefuls turn out for Tastee’s Portmore auditions
The quest to find the best talent in the performing arts began in Portmore on Saturday, signalling the start of this year’s Tastee Talent Trail.
The talented and the not-so-talented were on spot from early morning, and when auditions were over after 4 pm well over 120 hopefuls had been seen by the judges.
The successful contestants who received Lifeline cards which will allow them consideration to move into the next phase of the competition in search of the dream prize of $1 million in cash to the first place winner, $250,000 for second and $50,000 for third are: DJ Andre Lee, the singing group True Vision (Oshane Patterson, Tanisha Jackson and Ricardo Laird), singer Sharona Jonas, Poet Joel Ellis and singer Lorna Gordon .
Talent level was high as the final judges saw over 80 persons who displayed talents in singing, dancing, DJs, poets and a comedy skit.
Sponsored by Tastee, Pepsi, Claro, TVJ, RETV, Hitz 97, RJR94, Supreme Ventures, Breezes, Kosmo Tours and the KSAC, this year’s Tastee Talent Trail offers a first in that all finalists will receive cell phones from Claro.
Based on the turnout at Portmore, the remaining stops along the Trail should feature bumper crowds. The Trail continues on Saturday at the Bargain Village Plaza in May Pen.
