St Paul teams up with Erica Newell for Jah Children
ATLANTA-based reggae artiste Paul Allen aka St Paul, is a man who does not believe in musical boundaries.
In reflecting this, his soon-tobe-released debut album, tentatively titled Never Give Up will feature a wide variety of musical genres including, reggae, dancehall, hip hop, soca and gospel. As St Paul says, he wants his music to be appreciated by people the world over and that is why he has chosen to include so many different genres.
“I am a lover of all types of music and I see this as a way to diversify my sound, as well as to give my music a wider appeal so I can reach a wide audience on a global scale,” said St Paul.
However, St Paul is also very serious about the message in his music.
“Although I am working with different sounds, my music always has a positive message as that is a very important part of what I do musically. I am not into music to make a quick buck. I want my music to bring joy and have a positive and long-lasting influence on the people who listen to it,” said St Paul.
The singer is currently getting ready to release another single from his album. Entitled Jah Children, it is a collaborative effort which features former Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers group member, Erica Newell. It will be released before the end of June and will be available on all leading Internet music stores including iTunes, eMusic and Rhapsody.
