Take pride in JA
Dear Editor,
I think the current situation in Jamaica is horrifying and painful. How can a country wound itself? An already hurting economy is falling even more because some people don’t want to do what’s right.
I don’t think the prime minister should resign because Jamaicans themselves need to learn that they have to take responsibility. Yes, mistakes were made but we need to learn that we can’t always take the easy road. The prime minister has a long road ahead of him, but he needs to regain the respect of the people. And the people need to learn to value themselves as a nation. I remember how proud we were during the Beijing Olympics and the Berlin Games. We need to have that pride continuously. That’s what makes great nations great: pride in themselves, trust in God and a good work ethic.
