Let us raise the bar
Dear Editor,
The time has come to take drastic steps to discontinue the rape, abduction and killing of our children; for the children to stop watching and mourning the death of their parents because of criminality; for our children to stop begging and selling on the streets, especially when they should be at school, while adults are busy furthering their own education or planning another all-night party.
Our policymakers must introduce systems that will encourage good values and discipline, instead of corruption, dishonesty, immorality and indiscipline.
The time has come for school principals and teachers to raise the bar to enhance community education and better relationships between schools and communities. Our policemen and women must stop any internal problems and make more effort to help communities that don’t have children’s groups and clubs.
It is time the Government bring about changes as it relates to reckless procreation and understand that abortion is more of a private issue.
The church, too, must end the isolation which has begun to portray signs of politics.
I will not stand by and watch this country fall through, just because we have become caught up with misguided principles and lost values. I am fighting to make a change in my capacity, as restricted as it may be.
