10 Gift Ideas For Father’s Day
Father’s Day is this upcoming Sunday and many of us haven’t yet considered that gift we should get our father for this special day. Our fathers are just as important to us as our mothers are, and as such we should reward them and put much effort in making this day memorable for our fathers. This week Teenage has compiled some great gift ideas for you to choose from to award your father this Sunday.
Fragrance
Let’s start off with the average gift that would come to one’s mind for this occasion, a cologne. If you wish to get him one of these gifts, don’t just go in the store or wholesale and randomly purchase a cologne. Take time to examine the brand, colour and fragrance of the products available. Then choose one: you deem will suite his style, which reminds you of him, he would prefer the most or that smells like what you would want your father to smell like.
Accessorise his machine
Every man loves his car and shares a close bond with his machine used for transport. If your father drives, you could consider getting him an accessory to add to his toy, that maybe he has always wanted. This will definitely put a smile on his face. You can get him: car seat covers, a new car part (that his car may have been screaming for!), a new steering cover, a cleaning accessory kit (you can buy individual items and put a kit together yourself), seat belt pads, engine oil, fuel for his gas tank, some tire hub caps (if his cheap tire rims really need covering) or better yet some tire rims.
Travelling set
If your father is a metro man, always on the go, has recognised swagger, then definitely a ‘man bag’ will suite him well. If your father is one who attends the gym regularly, travels long journeys or carries clothing of personal stuff with him daily, then this gift would suite him as well.
Phone accessories
If your father has a cellphone, especially phone fanatic, an accessory for his cell phone would do him well. Examine his phone carefully and try to discover what accessory it could really do well with. Get something that will make it look upgraded and bling more. For example, if your father has a BlackBerry you could get him a plastic phone case of his favourite colour.
New Gadgets/Tools
A good worker always has his tools. If your father is one who always arms up a tool box, loves working with tools and his hands, then a new tool would be the best gift for him. Being in an era where technology, innovation and minimisation are dominant, you can get your father a tool of the newer version to the one he already possesses. For example, if your father is into the construction industry and always has a measuring tape on his waist, you could get him one of the latest version of measuring tapes. Either the hand-held one that doesn’t actually have a tape in it but uses laser, or one of the new versions of measuring tapes with a digital analog reader.
A Day of Relaxation
You could plan a great day filled with surprises on Sunday with your mother. You could start with surprising him with breakfast in bed and then offer him your present afterwards. End his day with a well cooked meal by you and your siblings. Cooking for him will make him feel so much appreciated, especially if your dish tastes well.
Surprise Road Trip
Again, you could plan with your mother, a surprise road trip for the family on Father’s Day. Wake up very early on Sunday morning, pack an igloo and some food containers, then wake your father up. Be well dressed to leave the house, before surprisingly waking him up. With the present high cost in transportation and accommodation expenses, you don’t have to go anywhere to far from your parish. You could go to the nearest park or beach or any breathtaking location our beautiful island has.
A Simple Card
If you are the conservative or traditional type of TEENager, the best gift to give your father is a simple greeting card either bought or made by you. Purchase or create a card which pinpoints and expresses how thankful you are that the creator rewarded you with a father. If you choose to purchase a card, take time when selecting your card. Do not just pick up a card with “Happy Father’s Day!” on it.
Choose one that reflects on what your father means to you and how significant the role he has played in your life contributed to your development. If you decide to create a greeting card yourself, you can create one the old fashion way, using glue, paper, stickers and ink. Or you could create one using your computer, the new fashion way.
It would be best if you thought of a thought and wrote/typed it in it. Adding pictures consisting of you both will make your card very touching to your father. No gift speaks louder to a father, than a card that a child has taken time to create with his hands, which reflects their life together.
Clean Something He Loves
Okay, if you have no money to purchase a gift for your father, don’t worry. Just look around in his space. Something must be there that really needs cleaning. Find that object, it could be his car, engine, tools or shoes. After finding the object you wish to make really shine again, clean it without him seeing you. After doing so, walk up to him with the cleaned object behind you, say “Happy Father’s Day!” and present the object him (you wouldn’t have to tell him that you’ve cleaned it. He’ll just laugh)
Gentleman’s Facial Care
If your father is the very hardworking type that hardly finds time to care for his face. Make an appointment or get him a voucher to visit the Spa on Sunday or another date, he is available for. Allow him to be pampered during his own time, this is a great gift for a father who deserves relaxation. Not only does a Spa treatment makes a father more handsome, but relaxed, moisturised and relieved from stress for a while, which is good for his health.
Good luck finding that perfect gift for your father this special day!
