The unchanging, unfathomable God
ISAIAH 43:19: “I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” Although the God we serve is immutable (unchanging), He is also unpredictable because God is greater than any human source of knowledge; yet He remains the same yesterday, today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8). God is not boxed into the cramped dimensions of our ignorance, despair or finite knowledge. He is not limited to anything we think about Him. He will and can do things that we would not have supposed possible.
“Today if you will let Him, God will tell you … things … you could never figure out on your own.” (Jeremiah 33:3TM) God asked Sarah in Genesis 18:14: “Is anything too hard for me?” If we let go of what we perceive to be our vast knowledge, whether theoretically or academically and allow God to be the omniscient God that He is, He will do His great works in and through us that may have been deemed impossible.
When God chose Moses to lead the greatest migration in the Old Testament, Moses never questioned God’s ability, but rather his own. Moses acknowledged that he was not a good public speaker and so he believed he was not qualified for the job. God’s answer to Moses was; Go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you will say.” (Exodus 4:12) History speaks for itself as Moses became one of the greatest leaders of all times.
Eternal Father, what a wonder You are! You are not enhanced by our strength or limited by our weakness. We willing yield ourselves to You and declare that in our nation You are free to do Your great work and so accomplish Your purpose for our land bringing us to righteousness and prosperity for Your honour and glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
