Rock the cloth – Summer dresses 2
It’s hot; no one can deny that, so we’re continuing to show you how to stay stylishly cool this summer.
Remember, choose cool cottons in light colours and that will be a fair start, and please know that you don’t have to strip down to skimpy to stay cool; a good rule of thumb is if you are baring your legs, cover your top, and if you’re going bare up top with strapless or midriffs, then cover your legs.
You may think that this is therefore not the time for maxi dresses; however, in the right light fabric, they are a great option.
We truly always Rock the Cloth and like to find styles we like and that suit us, and duplicate it in different fabrics, colours and patterns, so this week we show you two beautiful cotton maxi dresses in two different prints, made in the same style.
They were fairly easy to make, just:
1. Make an A-line dress from empire to the floor, making it wide enough to go over your head or for you to step into
2. Make two triangular tops for your bust with strings attached for ties
3. Insert elastic at top to your empire measurement
4. Attach top to skirt
5. Hem
