For more than a quarter of century, Les Campbell has been a consistent force within the local fashion and apparel industry. His pieces are worn by socialites and luminaries in the entertainment and corporate world alike.

The originality of his colour palette, underscored by his work with a variety of in-vogue fabric, and his understanding of the body dynamics are among his coveted skills. There are very few designers in Jamaica whose skills can compare to that of Les Campbell.

“I believe that that Les Campbell is an exceptionally talented designer whose classic approach is often under-rated,” says Saint CEO Deiwght Peters of the Canadian trained Campbell.

Those who have not yet discovered the artistry of Les Campbell are missing out. The trained fashion eyes will revel in the glow of his rich tropical colour palette of garden greens, sunflower yellows, deep ocean blues sets him apart from the pack. Many celebrated local designers have honed their skills under the tutelage of Les Campbell.

“All that glitters is not fashion,” Peters notes, pointing out that many people get carried away in misunderstanding the nuances of a well constructed garment. Cut, silhouette, fabric and details are important elements to a successful garment. There are many fashionistas who will attest that Campbell’s works seems to be inspired by the fashion masters of the twentieth century, such as Valentino, Lagerfeld, and Yves St Laurent.

The Les Campbell Spring Summer 2011 collections will be unveiled at Styleweek Jamaica in July.
