Mr G is ‘swaggerific’; not clashing at Settlement
Dancehall artiste Mr G, aka Goofy and now also known as Mr Swaggerific, is adamant that he will not be clashing at the much-hyped event, Settlement, scheduled for July . Instead, the artiste, who is enjoying a resurgence with two songs rocking the dancehall, says he is totally focused on his career and will not be derailed.
“I told the promoter that I would not be doing the show and that’s what I mean,” said Mr G, who totally demolished LA Lewis at the first Settlement in St Thomas early this year. He is on the poster to clash with Lewis a second time around.
“I have tried to stay away from the media for a minute to get the stigma of LA Lewis off me,” Mr G elaborated.
And now that he figures he has accomplished that, Mr G is in no hurry to reacquaint himself with any antics associated with Lewis.
“It’s all about my two new singles which are getting a lot of love from radio and in the dancehall,” the man who has been renamed Mr Swagerific said.
Swaggerific, actually is the name of Mr G’s newest song, a Seanizzle production on the One Day riddim. According to Goofy, the US-based Hot 97 has all the songs on the riddim in rotation.
“My new name on the streets now is Mr Swaggerific; nobody is calling me Goofy or Mr G anymore. This song has some travelling in it for me,” a smiling Mr G declared.
The other single, a combination with Angel Doulas on the Holy riddim, is called How Me Sound and it too has been getting positive feedback.
