Trusting God
PROVERBS 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.” We often measure success by the final outcome of a plan or project and become frustrated when the goals we set are not realised. We may even become despondent, give up hope and believe we have failed. God does not measure success the way we do, the criterion of God’s yardstick of success is met when we walk in faith and give Him all that concerns us.
God’s infinite divine plan for our lives is beyond all we could ever hope for or imagine. We, however, tend to limit God with our limited finite view and so often fall short of our God-given potential. When we begin to really trust God we will not be so focused on the end result, but rather on the process, seeing God at work in all the events of our lives. This becomes an exciting journey as we become aware that nothing just happens or is coincidental in our lives, but in reflection, we realise that all is a deliberate plan engineered by God for our success.
When we begin to trust God with all our hearts the outcome will be beyond our expectations and our wildest dreams. He will do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask, think or imagine! He is the awesome God who is so pleased when we walk in faith trusting and believing His word that because of His love for us, will reach to the remotest star to give us pleasure!
Eternal Father, we confess that as a nation we will not fear though the storms roar and the waters rage, but we will stand firm trusting in You the Lord of host who is with us. We also confess that You are our refuge and strength and our present help in times of need. We praise and thank You for the deliverance and restoration of our beloved nation.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
