All systems go for Stunt Festival
“Everything is in place for this weekend’s staging of the Mountain Dew, Snickers Stunt Festival,” said promoter Linval Gibbons of the much anticipated event.
“The energy coming from the streets is very encouraging; a lot of stunt festival fans have expressed excitement about coming to the event. They were disappointed about the postponement of the Labour Day show, but they are definitely gearing up for the show onSunday,” Gibbons told Splash.
Gibbons also took the opportunity to urge patrons to come out early, stressing that the event will be over by 9:00 pm.
Patrons can come expecting the usual thrills and gravity-defying stunts from the Pro Impact Stunt team out of the United States.
An added treat will be two new members to the team, Cory Coffey, the lone female BMX rider and Dave McDaniel on BMX.
Leader of the Pro Impact Stunt Team, Jeff Ferris and his other team members Matt Sager and Nick Happel are ‘regulars’ and need no introduction on the ramp to the Jamaican crowd who they have been thrilling since the introduction of the event five years ago.
With emphasis on fun there will be a lot of attraction for the whole family to enjoy themselves. Among the available attractions will be mechanical bull, Ferris Wheel, trains, trampo-leaper, helicopter, rock climber, merry go round, bounce-a-bouts galore and lots more.
Later on in the evening the fun will continue with stage performances from Beenie Man, I-Octane, Voicemail, Apachie Chief and Sarge, Blacker, Rum Head, Ras Goudie, Hitman Wally and others.
Gates open at 10:00 am and the promoter is emphasising that the day’s activities will come to an end by 9:00 pm.
Sponsors for the Mountain Dew Stunt Festival are Main Event Entertainment Group, Chat!, Television Jamaica, The Jamaica Pegasus, Grace Vienna Sausage, Beaumont’s Car Rental, Dr Lushus and Hype TV.
