All systems go for JCDC gospel song competition finals
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is pulling out all the stops to ensure a spectacular staging of the Grace Tropical Rhythms Jamaica Gospel Song competition finals scheduled for this Sunday at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
According to JCDC gospel coordinator, Leighton Jones, plans are now fully in place to ensure all goes well for what promises to be the largest staging yet. “This year the competition has undergone a number of changes which were designed to broaden the reach and enhance the delivery of the product,” he points out.
Among the changes highlighted by Jones is the introduction of outreach element which saw the finalists volunteering at children’s home across the island.
Jones also pointed out that the 2010 finalists will also be competing for one of the largest prize packages in the history of the competition where the winner will take home $500,000 courtesy of Grace along with booking contract courtesy of Headline Entertainment and several other prizes.
In addition to the performance by the finalists, patrons will be treated to special guest appearances by gospel artistes Sandra Brooks and Ryan Mark along with the Psalm International Ministries who will lead a special praise and worship session.
Grace Tropical Rhythms brand manager, Nicholas Bramwell says that the JCDC gospel programme continues to be a natural fit for the brand, which has been known over the years for its association with quality family entertainment.
