FiWi’s Money Magnet teaser introduces The Wizard
FIWI Music, co-founded by musician Courtney John, created a buzz with the recent release of the promo riddim mix, Money Magnet. The mix is a teaser for the upcoming Money Magnet Project.
The project is the brainchild of reclusive music producer The Wizard. One of few female producers in the industry, The Wizard aims to stake her claim with the launch of this project. Money Magnet is her first project on the FiWi Music imprint — the label is best known for releasing cross-genre, reggae-infused music.
FiWi Music executive, Odessa Chambers, director of the project and also the official representative of The Wizard, reiterated the producer’s talent.
“We signed The Wizard because she is talented. She is a producer not a beat-maker,” said an enthusiastic Chambers. “The producer steers clear of the industry’s norm to focus on perfecting the craft. She opts to be heard and not seen.”
“She writes, plays bass, and the keyboard. She builds everything,” added Chambers.
The Wizard’s international credentials include the club/dancehall remix of the Michael Franti single featuring Lady Saw, Shake It. In addition, she is working on several remixes for various artistes affilated with the Island Def Jam/Universal record labels. Her seemingly full slate includes the Boom Riddim, which is set to follow the release of the Money Magnet Riddim.
The tracks listing for the Money Magnet Project is: Cherine feat Nazy, Hall Of Fame; Bugle, Like It’s My Birthday; Tifa, Next Man Money; Courtney John, All In This Together and Agent Sasco feat Nazy, Make Money. The official release date for the project is yet to be announced.
