NWC, Wisynco meet in Scotiabank Group KO football
National Water Commission (NWC) will meet Division Two leaders Wisynco Group in a play-off to decide the final quarter-finalist in the 2010 Scotiabank Group-sponsored Kingston & St Andrew Business House Football Association Knockout Competition today at the NWC playing field, Mona starting at 3:30 pm.
Wisynco Group are undefeated and are yet to concede a goal this season. They have won seven of their eight league matches played and have scored 26 goals. The Marcel ‘Fuzzy’ Gayle-coached Wisynco will be looking to Division Two leading goalscorer Girvon Brown (13 goals) to continue his rich vein of form and defeat their rivals, 2007 champions NWC.
He will be supported by Kevin Mighty, who plays for Humble Lions in the Digicel Premier League, along with Kelso Cousins, Omar Washington, Calbert Coke and Kevin Palmer for victory.
The Garfield ‘Ratty’ Robinson-coached NWC had a slow start to the 2010 season, but are now getting into their strides, and Wisynco will have their ‘hands full’ in trying to upset them. They will rely on Trace McKenzie, Patrick Edmonson, Kirk Edwards, Rollin Francis, Gary Francis and Keniel Bennett for victory.
The quarter-final round will be played on Saturday with Wray & Nephew vs Gleaner Company at 234 Spanish Town Road, NHT vs JNBS at Jessie Ripoll Primary School and Scotiabank Group vs Courts Jamaica at NWC playing field, Mona.
The winner of the NWC/ Wisynco game will meet defending champions Carib Cement at Bull Pen next week Tuesday. All matches begin at 3:30 pm.
