Stars R Us is back
THE exciting Stars R Us series will return on Saturday, August 21 at Mas Camp in Kingston
with an attractive line-up of performers.
Presented by Golden Promotions Limited the event will see performances coming from Ken Boothe, Karen Smith, Derrick Harriott, John Holt, Errol Dunkley, Gregory Isaacs, Little John and Dennis Walks.
Chief among the performers for Stars R Us is crowd pleaser Ken Boothe who, over the years has topped charts with hits such as Everything I Own, Artibella, Puppet On A String, Freedom Street and The Train Is Coming.
One of reggae’s early performers, Errol Dunkley bridged the roots music of Jamaica, in the 1960s, and London’s Brit-reggae scene of the 70s. His biggest hit was a remake of John Holt’s OK Fred, he also went on to record other favourites, such as You’re Gonna Need Me, Black Cinderella and Movie Star.
Gregory Isaacs, dubbed the Cool Ruler, is no stranger when it comes on to delivering on stage. The artiste has built up a steady following over the years and an impressive catalogue
of hits.
Among his big hits are All I Have Is Love, Night Nurse, My Number One, Soon Forward, Hard Time and Love Is Overdue.
Little John is best known for numbers, such as Clarks Booty, Do Mama, Say What You’re Saying, and The More We Are Together. Dennis Walks has recorded popular songs, such as Run Girl Run, Bless You For Being An Angel and Only Time Will Tell.
The lone female on the bill Karen Smith has been thrilling music lovers on the cabaret circuit for years. Vintage lovers can come expecting this song bird to be dishing out some
real classics.
Backing band will be Lloyd Parks and We the People while music will be provided by Stokey Love from Kool FM.
