More barbarism to come
Dear Editor,
It is really too bad that our politicians are so personally insulated from the violence that poor Jamaicans face every day. Maybe if they did experience some of the tragic acts like those that befell the families in Tredegar Park, we would finally get action.
I cannot understand why they appear so weak and ineffective in dealing with the horrible crime problem.
Why are our police, prisons and judiciary so understaffed that they can neither apprehend, convict nor incarcerate the persons that commit the murders?
Why was there the premature end to the State of Emergency and why do we still not have hangings? It is clear from all the surveys taken that this goes against the will of the majority of Jamaicans.
When successive governments continue to operate contrary to the will of the people, then the frustration level will continue to build in this country. The result will be more and more vigilante justice as this will be seen as the only course of justice available to the people. So if our politicians and bleeding-heart liberals think that they have seen barbaric acts just wait and see — there’s more to come.
