How so?
Dear Editor,
Your story of August 15 regarding the vicious slaying of Shannel Norris struck a chord with me and moved me to do something I’ve never done – express my opinion in writing to a newspaper.
Your article said Ms Norris “had her throat cut”. My question is, just how does someone go about getting their throat cut? The message is sent that she is responsible for her demise. This is at a minimum irresponsible journalism, and such reporting is by far the most insensitive and ignorant statement I have ever read in a newspaper. It appears that in a collaborative effort to hide the identity of her killer, you and the rest of the media in Jamaica have resorted to blaming the victim. How sad!
