Club Stars dominate St James age-group leagues
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Club Stars grabbed two of the four age group titles that were on offer as the St James Football Association’s Wata and Bigga competitions ended on Saturday at Jarrett Park.
Club Stars won the Wata Under-15 and Bigga Under-17 titles, while Granville City took the Wata Under-13 and Revelation FC won the Bigga Under-20 trophies.
Both titles won by Club Stars came through the penalty shoot out route as they beat favourites Seba United 3-2 in the Under-15 decider and Rosemount FC 5-4 in the Under-17 game.
The game against Seba had ended 0-0, while they had shared four goals with Rosemount.
Granville City took the Wata Under-13 title with a 4-2 win over the previously unbeaten Youths In Action.
Granville jumped out to a quick lead and were up 3-0 at half time.
Youths in Action pulled a goal back early in the second half, but Granville restored their three-goal margin soon after ,and while Youths In Action added a second goal, they failed to get any closer.
The Bigga Under-20 final was one sided affair as Revelation dominated West Green on their way to a 4-0 win.
