It’s Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) tomorrow and it’s all about style, so all the shopping should be done in style and your shopping bag should be no exception.

I was actually inspired by Boy o Boy to do this, as they now offer custom-made, personalised diaper bags that are just about 100 per cent Jamaican (except for the fabric). This fabulous bag can serve whatever purpose you wish, and can be personalised to your specifications. For me, the advantage of this is to have a stylish bag in which to carry my purse and phone, with lots of space for all the items I will be buying; this keeps all your shopping right there on your arm and minimises the need for several plastic bags. You can then leave the load in the car on your way to the next shopping spot.

For this project you simply:

1. Make a bag in whatever fabric and style you like (a stiff fabric is preferable to make the bag sturdy and upright).

2. You can embroider, paint or iron on your pattern or text to personalise your bag.

3. And there you have it. Just don’t forget to add pockets for your purse, cellphone and any other nick-nacks you might have.
