FNO and Sun Island bring you My Jamaica
Who would have thought that a woman from Trinidad would open a store selling Jamaican products? Meet Eva Miles, who moved to The Rock 17 years ago and married Sun Island’s managing director Raymond Miles Jr. Together they have opened a store catering to man, woman and child and specialising in things Jamaican.
My Jamaica by Sun Island began business in mid-June of this year, and since opening its doors has found favour with patrons (both residents and visitors) who are happy with the pricing, selection and quality of the merchandise.
Original clothing designs may be found in the store, including Usain Bolt Sun Island apparel and authentic Bob Marley apparel. In addition, hand-made art and crafts, including one-of-a-kind pieces by ceramicists David Pinto, Michael Lane and Margaret McGhie, and trays and place mats with Jamaican prints by Creole Belle and Susan Fredricks are among the offerings.
My Jamaica is more than a souvenir shop, it’s an art and craft centre and boutique stocking locally produced items.
