Farmer drowns in Porters Mountain
PORTERS MOUNTAIN, Westmoreland — A farmer reportedly drowned Friday morning in the Porters Mountain section of the parish from flood waters associated with the passage of the tropical storm.
The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Rupert Wright of Pipers Corner, Westmoreland.
The Whithorn police reported that Wright’s body was found by residents afloat in waters along the main road in the district, which became inundated during the recent heavy rains.
