Petersfield players banned for five
PETERSFIELD, Westmoreland — Two players from the Petersfield High School’s daCosta Cup team were on Tuesday banned for the remainder of the 2010 season as well as three games next year and the school also barred from hosting anymore games this season following a hearing into a fracas that took place during a Zone E game against Mannings School.
Davion Green, the Petersfield goalkeeper and Aldane Kennedy were both banned for five games respectively including the last two games of this season, against Grange Hill yesterday and on Saturday against Little London as well as the first three games next season.
The players were implicated in an incident that took place late in the game that was tied at 0-0 at the Petersfield grounds on October 6.
Kennedy was cited for throwing a chair at a teacher from Mannings School.
Additionally Petersfield will have to play their first three games next season away from home.
The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) disciplinary committee however commended Petersfield’s principal Eugenie Spence for suspending all the players for a minimum two days following by councelling and probation, a release from ISSA said.
Mannings meanwhile were awarded full points and two goals from the game plus another three points from an unplayed game against Little London to move to 20 points going into yesterday’s round of games.
