Flow announced on Friday that it will now offer up to 100 megabits per second (Mbs) to residential customers requiring this type of speed.

“This is really an unprecedented move”, said Michele English, Flow’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “Very few countries in the region offers this kind of speed and capacity to their residential customers”, she said. English was speaking at the VIP launch of Flow’s new 3,000 square feet flagship store at Fairview plaza, in Montego Bay last Friday .

Addressing a high level audience that comprised Montego Bay’s top business personalities, English stated that this moves comes as Flow continues to make good on its promise to introduce new broadband products and services in Jamaica that are on par, or even surpasses international best practices.

It also follows Flow’s recent free upgrade from internet speeds of eight Mbps and 15 Mbps to 12Mbps and 20Mbps respectively to residential customers.

“This move, really demonstrates the power of Flow’s Technology”, said English.

Describing the Company’s US$250 million infrastructure, English stated that, “Unlike many other communications options on the island, Flow’s systems are designed to meet future demands with minimal adjustments to the existing infrastructure. In addition, unlike wireless broadband providers of 3G, 4G and WiMax, Flow is not hindered by the capacity and speed issues. Our network allows us to offer the fastest, highest capacity accompanied by the ability to offer these services at the best prices.”

Since Flow’s entry into the Jamaican market, Flow says it has driven down the prices of Internet access by as much as 80 per cent in some cases, while at the same time, offering customers more bandwidth than was available on the market at much lower costs.
