Too long a wait for ice cream
Dear Editor,
I was passing by Devon House on National Heroes’ Day and thought I would make a quick stop for an ice cream. No sooner had I arrived than I had to abandon my intention. There were long lines of people waiting to be served. You join one queue to pay and then another to be served. Some customers told me they were waiting for upwards of 20 minutes. I did not have that time to spare just for an ice cream.
Surely, it must be possible for Devon House I Scream to come up with effective ways to deal with high volumes of customers. I’d like to suggest, for example, that they could set up temporary additional service points on high-volume days. If not under their direct control, they might wish to consider partnering with concessionaires to operate these extra kiosks on such occasions. Whatever they do, I hope the quality of service will be improved and customers will not be treated like a herd of cattle.
