ISSA/Western Conference basketball tips off today
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Herbert Morrison and Cornwall College will start the defence of their ISSA/Western Conference basketball titles today, as the schoolboy season gets underway.
Herbert Morrison, who won the Western Under-19 title and were runners-up in the national competition last season, will pen their defence against Maldon High at home, while Cornwall College will face Spot Valley High at the Montego Bay Cricket Club in the Under-16 league.
There will be double headers at both venues, as Herbert Morrison will also face Holland High in the Under-16 section, while Cornwall College and Spot Valley High will face-off in the Under-19 section.
Six schools led by Herbert Morrison and Cornwall College are taking part in each section of the competition.
In the Under-16, there will be Cornwall College, Herbert Morrison, Spot Valley High, Muschett High, Holland High, who replaced William Knibb, and Rhodes Hall High.
In the Under-19 section, there will be Herbert Morrison, Cornwall College, Mannings School, Muschett High, Spot Valley and Maldon High.
The top four schools in each section will advance to the semi-finals, while the top two will progress to the national play-offs.
