A day after his passing, fans of reggae singer Gregory Isaacs have rocketed his music catalogue to chart above all except Bob Marley.

Isaacs’ albums were currently charting highly in seven countries up to yesterday. He was not charting in the top10 prior to his death, but fans worldwide seemed to have jumped online to purchase his catalogue albums. His albums are charting multiple times on country charts and they tally to 17 slots in the top10 among 22 country chart listings.

His current iTunes charting include number 2 and 4 with Night Nurse and One Man Against the World respectively in the United States. In the UK, Isaacs is at number 4 and 6 with Hot Stepper and Night Nurse. Across the English Channel in France, the Cool Ruler holds three sports at number 3, 7 and 8 with Night Nurse, The Very Best of Gregory Isaacs Gold and Once Ago.

The singer is having a good time in Europe. In The Netherlands and Spain Night Nurse is at number 6 in both territories. More Gregory holds the top spot in Sweden and More Gregory (Again) is at number 10. The popular Night Nurse is at number 3 in Switzerland.

On Amazon best-sellers reggae albums (US based) he holds the number 3, 6, 8 ,9 and 10 positions.

The most popular album is Night Nurse which is also his signature single.

Digital sales account for one-third of global music sales and iTunes is the dominant online music store followed by Amazon.

iTunes charts are dominated by new albums and catalogue albums by Bob Marley, Sean Paul, Shaggy and a few others.

Isaacs died at approximately 4:00 am Monday in London, succumbing to lung cancer, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his health. The artiste is said to have died peacefully surrounded by his family.
