Half Moon face Grand Palladium in Hotel final
ROSE HALL, St James — Half Moon will start favourites when they meet Grand Palladium in today’s final of the second staging of the Ventura Elegant Corridor Inter-Hotel football competition at Half Moon after contrasting semi-final wins earlier this week.
Half Moon, who won an earlier meeting between the teams, 2-1, advanced to the final with a big 5-0 thrashing of Caribbean Gardens on Monday, while Grand Palladium edged Iberostar 4-1 on penalties a day later after the teams tied 1-1 after regulation and extra-time.
On Monday, Jeremy Bucknor scored twice, once in either half, while Colin Pearson, Brent Gordon and Omar Murray got a goal each for Half Moon in their comfortable victory, despite finishing the game with 10 players.
Half Moon led 2-0 at half-time with goals from Bucknor in the 19th minute and Pearson in the 39th.
Bucknor scored again in the 61st minute, Gordon in the 65th and Murray in the 73rd, while Luigi Barros was sent off after picking up yellow cards in the 14th and 38th.
