Daley on target again for Bradford City
BURY, England (CMC) — Jamaican winger Omar Daley scored his third goal in four days to fire Bradford City to a 1-0 win over Bury in English League Two action on Tuesday.
His 30th minute penalty was enough to secure the visitors a precious three points and lift them to their fourth win in five outings in England’s fourth tier.
The pacy 29-year-old winger scored twice last Saturday as Bradford crushed Oxford 5-0 at home.
Playing at Gigg Lane amidst torrential rain, both teams went close in the opening stages as Bury midfielder Mike Jones fired over and Jason Price forced a sharp save out of Owain Fon Williams.
In the 29th minute, the slippery Daley put a through ball behind the Bury defense for Price but the striker’s advance was curtailed by Fon Williams who brought down the player in the area.
Daley then stepped up and sent the resulting spot kick high into the back of the nets to settle the affair.
